Wellesley 1952: Send in your news!

Wellesley Class of 1952

Hey, '52-ers-

The due date, December 1st, for my notes for the winter issue of the Wellesley Magazine is fast approaching, so I'm writing to remind you: Please send your news before then. This has been a busy fall for me, and I'm presuming you too have been involved in interesting activities. Read a good book? Let me know what it was. Been on a trip? I'd like to hear about it. Met with some other 52-ers or had a mini-reunion? What fun! I—we all—want to share your news. Hearing what other Wellesley women are doing, thinking, enjoying makes my day. I am the Wellesley Club of Mississippi—president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and only member—so news from Wellesley classmates is a real treat. And I'm sure others feel the same way. Our class is getting smaller, so please write what you are doing, and let the others appreciate your news. If you wish to write a memorial for a classmate, send it to me; and I'll get it to the Magazine staff. Or if you would like to put in a picture, send it also, ASAP. This issue will come out about the middle of February.

I'm enclosing a Happy Thanksgiving poem.

Hoping to get your news soon. Cheers - Nancy

Class Secretary, Wellesley ’52

'Twas the night of Thanksgiving,

But I just couldn't sleep

I tried counting backwards,

I tried counting sheep.

The leftovers beckoned -

The dark meat and white

But I fought the temptation

With all of my might.

Tossing and turning

With anticipation

The thought of a snack

Became infatuation.

So, I raced to the kitchen,

Flung open the door

And gazed at the fridge,

Full of goodies galore.

I gobbled up turkey

And buttered potatoes,

Pickles and carrots,

Beans and tomatoes.

I felt myself swelling

So plump and so round,

'Til all of a sudden,

I rose off the ground.

I crashed through the ceiling,

Floating into the sky

With a mouthful of pudding

And a handful of pie.

But, I managed to yell

As I soared past the trees....

Happy eating to all -

Pass the cranberries, please.

May your stuffing be tasty,

May your turkey be plump.

May your potatoes 'n gravy

Have nary a lump,

May your yams be delicious

May your pies take the prize,

May your Thanksgiving dinner

Stay off of your thighs.

May your Thanksgiving be blessed!!

Happy Thanksgiving y'all !!!!!!
